| Bruges:
Europe's best preserved Medieval city, is the capital
of West Flanders. Beautiful gothic buildings abound. Not
to be missed are the Basilica of the Holy Blood, and the
Onze-Lieve-Vrouwkerk (Church of our Lady) which has the
only sculpture by Michelangelo which left Italy in his
lifetime. Also the Begijnhof, which was built for the
wives of crusaders, has been a place of tranquility for
750 years. |
