| Budapest:
The twin cities of Buda and Pest straddle the Danube as
it meanders through Central Europe. The Pest side houses
the great buildings from the days of the Austro-Hungarian
Empire, including the Parliament building above. Spring
and summer are the best times to visit, as the locals
re-appear after winter and the pavement cafés fill.
Turkish baths are a remnant of the Ottoman Empire, and
dreary block housing in the suburbs, from the Soviet era.
